 A Wonderful Beginner's Bible Stories Book for Baby Hands
I bought this board book for my 1-year-old's dedication, and it is perfect. It's a wonderful collection of bible stories appropriate for a baby and toddler's short attention span. It's of sturdy construction, so it will resist destruction caused by biting, drooling, tossing or dropping. The pictures are colorful and friendly. This is good introduction to the bible.
 Excellent Bible For Youngsters, But One Glaring Omission
"My First Read And Learn Bible" is an excellent way to introduce children to the Word of God. It highlights key events in creation, the love of God, and of Jesus. The stories are wittled down to a child's level and never get too deep (or wide). The reading level is perfect for youngsters just heading into kindergarten, but parents can read these stories to children of any age. The illustrations are wonderful. They are full of vibrant colors and keep little eyes busy. Despite being a board book, the pages are very quiet. This is important if your child brings this Bible to church with them, since they'll probably be more interested in it than what is going on elsewhere in the church.
So why did I only give it three stars? For the simple fact that this Bible does not address the single most important event in Christianity: the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Sure, I can see where parents would perceive this event to be much too violent for little children, but I subscribe to the belief that there are some truths that children shouldn't be sheltered from. I have vivid memories of growing up and seeing pictures of Jesus being crucified. When I asked my mother what it meant, she merely explained to me that it was the greatest thing anybody has ever done for me or any other person. She didn't hide the facts when it came to Jesus' death and resurrection for us, and I don't think that I was scarred by seeing Jesus hanging on a cross.
So, if you want an excellent Bible reader for your child, I recommend this book. However, please don't shelter them from the single most important event that made Christianity possible.
Wonderful 1st bible
Received this as a gift to my son from his Godparents. Now we're giving it to our Godson. Nice pictures. Simple stories. Compact enough to fit in my diaper bag to take to church to keep our son entertained.
LOVE this book... not super cheesy. Simple text for child or early reader.
My daughter loves this book. She specifically requests it over and over at bedtime. And I actually like the artwork.. it's very simple and not over-the-top cheesy. The pastel quilt on the cover is a bit babyish for my taste, but the words on each page are printed on a solid color background, making it a easy for a future budding reader to easily read and decipher the words.
There are a lot of goofy bible kiddie books on the market that I really don't care for. But this one is simple and to the point. I like the simple language because she can easily memorize the words and I can fill in with my own details of the story when I want to. I also like that it's a board book because it's durable and the pages are easy for a toddler to turn.
The front and back cover are padded, which is a nice touch.

Wonderful Bible for young toddlers
My son is still too young for some of the other children's Bibles out there on the market, and a fellow mom recommended this board book Bible to me. My son loves the pictures and the Bible stories are modified to fit into a toddler's short attention span, giving the highlights of the original text and leaving out any violence too graphic for a small child. As he gets older his Bible studies will become more in-depth, but right now this is perfect for me to read to him or for him to "read" on his own and begins his training for deeper studies later on.
