 Ecumenical Study Programs : A Priority Need In Every Parish; On Every Campus
Dear Reader,
For the moment, the guns have stopped in Lebanon.
As one gunner put it this morning,
"You can even hear the birds sing. That is good."
Let's hope the CEASEFIRE holds. ...
But today, more than ever, we need to understand and respect each other's beliefs.
If peace is to be sustained, - one of the priority needs of all faith families, the world over, - TODAY, NOW - is to make a serious effort to do Adult Ecumenical Education Programs.
We need to replace the myths and the anger and the hatred of each other in our collective and personal consciousness today with ecumenical understandings, that will further facilitate and foster mutual respect, tolerance of diversity, and genuine and lasting, cooperative co-existence and peace.
To this end, I recently wrote this book titled: "Muslims, Christians, Jews, Evangelicals: To Be Is Already To Be One".
Via the internet, I am urging universities, seminaries, parishes to begin to seriously do Adult Ecumenical Education Programs.
To that end, I have developed an accompanying Program of Study (Nine Sessions) that, given the right impetus could help more than a little to transform global consciousness into a CARING CONSCIOUSNESS, - allowing folks the world over to respect diversity of cultures and beliefs - and to know that at the level of spirituality, at the level of being, - we already are one. Religions differ, but it is one spirit within self, - moving us all to be creative, caring, cooperative and peaceful partners on the journey of life, imbued with a "new way of seeing, a new way of serving" that would give us all a new quality of life and a global world at peace.
I believe the book "Muslims, Christians, Jews, Evangelicals: To Be Is Already To Be ONE" may be helpful in doing that.
